The singer serenaded Gina Rodriguez's Jane and Brett Dier's Michael with the romantic ballad as he made unannounced appearance at the on-screen couple's wedding reception.

Bruno Mars made Jane and Michael's wedding even more special in the season 2 finale of "Jane the Virgin". Not only did the singer make a surprise appearance in the Monday night, May 16 episode of The CW series, but he also treated the couple and viewers to his unreleased song "Rest of My Life".
Mars, as himself, beautifully crooned the romantic ballad while the couple, played by Gina Rodriguez and Brett Dier, danced to it and the crowd looked on. "It took us a lifetime to find each other/ It was worth the wait cause I finally found the one," he sang and added in the chorus, "How could I be so lucky?/ I must've done something right/ And I promise to love her for the rest of my life."
According to a press release, Mars wrote "Rest of My Life" years ago but he had a hard time deciding where he should unveil it. A huge fan of "Jane the Virgin", the Hawaii-born star eventually debuted it on the show.
It's been a little while since the last time Mars released new music. He's reportedly planning to drop a follow-up to 2012's "Unorthodox Jukebox" later this year. According to his father Pete Hernandez, the "Uptown Funk" singer was supposed to share a new song in March, but was forced to delay it due to his surprise appearance at Super Bowl 50 earlier this year.
"It was due in March, but by doing the Super Bowl, it threw him back several months," Hernandez said in a recent interview. "Bruno has seven great new songs - I've heard 'em - but the album should now be released in September or October, to qualify for next year's Grammy Awards."
