I. Marlene King writes on Instagram, '... we approach the beginning of the end of PLL,' as she promotes the upcoming seventh season of the teen drama series.

No official announcement has been made about whether "Pretty Little Liars" will end with its upcoming season 7, but the persons involved with the show keep hinting so. Series creator I. Marlene King was the latest to fuel the speculation with her new Instagram post.
"As we approach the beginning of the end of PLL as we know it," she wrote in the caption of a throwback photo showing Lucy Hale's Aria and Sasha Pieterse's Alison from one of early seasons of the popular drama series.
King told Variety in late last year, "I think that this story when we're back will end next year at the at end of season 7." Hale said a similar thing on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" last February as she responded to James Corden's question if the next season would be the last. "It is ending," she firmly answered.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7 kicks off Tuesday, June 21 at 8/7c on Freeform. Filming began last spring. The official Twitter account of the show recently teased the fate of Hanna who was missing in the season 6 finale with a GIF of Ashley Benson's character being dragged by someone unseen while she's unconscious.
