It's official, James Bobin ("The Muppets", "Alice Through the Looking Glass") will helm "MIB 23". The director confirms he will sit behind the lens for the "23 Jump Street" and "Men in Black" crossover during an interview with Collider.

Bobin will take over the helming duty from Phil Lord and Chris Miller who directed the first two films. The duo can't direct the upcoming one due to their commitment to Han Solo movie. They, however, will still be involved in the franchise as producers.

"21 Jump Street" and "22 Jump Street" duo Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are expected to reprise their detective roles. Rumor has it, Sony will bring in young actors to replace the "MIB" pair Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

The movie hasn't had any release date, but Bobin plans to start filming later this year. The storyline is still under tight wraps, but it might have aliens. Phil Lord once said the third "Jump Street" movie would be based on the gag reels shown at the end of the second film.

"22 Jump Street" ended with fake sequels that showed all the possible stories they could explore in the next movie. The gag reels included an outer space-set dubbed "2121 Jump Street".
