The Toronto rapper's latest album 'Views' reportedly sold more than 630,000 equivalent album units in its first day and could earn 800,000 units in its first week.

The long wait for Drake's new album is finally over. More than two years after "Nothing Was the Same" came out, the Canadian rapper finally dropped its proper follow-up called "Views" on Friday, April 29.
Marking his fourth full-length project, it arrived after a pair of 2015 surprise-released mixtapes from the Toronto MC, "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" and the Future-aided "What a Time to Be Alive".
The Toronto-centric LP, which was first announced last year as "Views from the 6", features a total of 20 songs including "One Dance" that has so far peaked at No. 2 on Billboard Hot 100, last year's smash "Hotline Bling" and a new version of "Pop Style" without contributions from Kanye West and Jay-Z. There's also another collaboration with Rihanna called "Too Good" and another Future duet titled "Grammys".
"The album is based around the change of the season in our city," Drake explained the inspiration behind his new record in an interview with Zane Lowe when premiering it on Beats 1's OVO Radio. "It starts in the wintertime. Starts with 'Keep The Family Close'. Winter to summer and back to winter again. It's just to show you the two extreme moods that we have."
"We love our summers but we also make our winters work... You start to value your days a lot more when most people won't go outside type of thing... It creates a different person. I thought it was important to make the album here during the winter," he continued.
"Views" is already on track to open at No. 1 on albums charts across the country. Republic Records has revealed that the album earned more than 630,000 equivalent album units during its first day out. It's predicted to sell around 800,000 in its first week.
