The movie actor grabbed the Motley Crue singer by the neck and arm, telling him to stop being aggressive.

AceShowbiz - Nicolas Cage was caught on tape trying to calm Vince Neil down after the latter's alleged altercation with a woman. The "Rage" actor was physically confronting the Motley Crue singer in an attempt to prevent him from further harming the fan.

In the video obtained by TMZ, Cage was heard telling Neil, "Stop this...now!" as he restrained the singer. The incident occurred outside Aria Hotel in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 7 at around 5 P.M. The gossip site reported that the unnamed woman was seeking an autograph from Neil when he "got behind the woman, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground."

Cage and Neil were inside the hotel at that time but the showdown between the two took place outside for passerbys to see. Sources told TMZ that Cage was trying to take Neil inside a car.

Neil was never taken to the police station but Laura Meltzer, a public information officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, told USA Today that the 55-year-old was cited for misdemeanor battery against a female fan Thursday night. She filed a report accusing Neil of grabbing her hair and pulling her to the ground. He is scheduled to appear in court June 17.

It was unclear whether Neil was intoxicated at that time. His lawyer David Chesnoff told the Associated Press that he's investigating the allegation and the public shouldn't prejudge the situation.

Both Cage and Neil had a brush with the law in the past prompted by alcohol. Cage was arrested in 2011 in New Orleans after a drunken argument with wife Alice Kim. Neil was arrested in June 2010 on the Las Vegas Strip and charged with DUI.
