Ben Affleck has finally cleared up the air on the massive tattoo on his back. The "Batman v Superman: dawn of Justice" actor tells Mario Lopez in a new interview for Extra that the Phoenix body ink is actually "fake for a movie."

"I actually do have a number of tattoos," he adds, "but I try to not have them in places where you have to do a lot of cover up ... they get sort of addictive, tattoos, after awhile."

Affleck was spotted with the tattoo on the set of his movie "Live by Night". It didn't go unnoticed by his exes. While Jennifer Lopez blatantly called it "awful," Jennifer Garner quipped, "Bless his heart." She added, "A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario? I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes."
