Zendaya Blasts Julie Klausner for Accusing Her of Starving Herself
Celebrity

The comedian engaged in a Twitter war with Zendaya and her fans, saying she won't stop 'criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards.'

AceShowbiz - Zendaya Coleman just wouldn't take it when she's accused of starving herself to look good. The 19-year-old Disney star fired back at "Difficult People" star Julie Klausner who criticized her body after her recent Kids' Choice Awards appearance.

It all began when Zendaya thanked her fans in her acceptance speech after winning Favorite Female TV Star - Kids' Show at the Saturday, March 12 ceremony. "I've been doing this for a long time, and I do it for you guys. I just want you to know that doing and making positive programming for young people is so important to me, and I will keep doing it. To all the parents out there, thank you for allowing me to be a role model for your children," she said.

Klausner commented via Twitter on Sunday, "And thinspo model for your impressionable tweens. Zendaya's ultimate retort to Giuliana Rancic is starving herself down to the size of her elbowz. You don't have to have an eating disorder to attend the Kids' Choice Awards ...but it helps!"

Zendaya tweeted back, "Do you find this funny? I will write another paragraph to educate you aswell #youreallywannabenext? Now ...everyone go look in the mirror at their beautiful body, and love that sh-t #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning."

The 37-year-old comedian refused to stop there although Zendaya's fans had bombarded her with hatred. Klausner added in several posts, "I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they're fat. And you know those public fat shamers who fake 'concern' for Melissa McCarthy's health? Consider me your fire with fire."

"I'm concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya. I do not worry about Zendaya's health or care whether she eats. FYI Zendaya and her fans are angry bc I insinuated this isn't a healthy look. The end," Klausner continued. She even took the discussion into a whole new level by writing, "Zendaya's threat to write another paragraph is more dread inducing than Kim Jong Un's fronting about the bomb he has. I'm gonna #logoff before these Zendaya fans (the Zenhive?) actually make my brain explode with how smart they are? I would like to use this opportunity to educate Zendaya fans that the Reagans ignored AIDS."

Klausner did not log off in the end and continued the feud with Zendaya's fans while the Disney star refused to engage in the conversation.
