AceShowbiz - "Game of Thrones" star Carice van Houten played her famous character Melisandre in the Thursday, February 18 episode of "Late Night with Seth Meyers". During a "Baby Shower" skit, viewers watched how it would be like to have Melisandre attend a joyous baby shower.

"Clutch your child close to your breast, woman. For the night is dark and full of terrors," Melisandre said when asked to a recite an inspirational quote about motherhood. When the subject of the baby's gender was broached, Melisandre said, "Pray that it's a son so the Lord of Light can look down upon him with favor. And if it's a girl, lock it away in a dark tower forever and hope it's not consumed by grayscale."

"You're always saying you don't have any female friends, and this is why," Seth told Melisandre in a separate room during the party. "Maybe stop telling people the night is dark of full of terrors." Melisandre replied, "Yeah, but the night is dark and full of terrors. Everyone knows that." Seth then asked Melisandre to tell people "fun stories of yourself."

When the guests began to share stories of their delivery time, Melisandre quipped, "I gave birth once. A shadow demon. I will never forget how it emerged from my womanhood: its claw-like hands grabbed onto my ankles so that it could propel itself into the night air."

"Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere on April 24.
