AceShowbiz - This newly confirmed returning star will get you more excited for "Gilmore Girls" revival. Milo Ventimiglia has been officially announced to return and reprise his role as Rory's love interest Jess Mariano.

Ventimiglia, who has recurred as The Ogre on "Gotham", joins previously announced returning stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Matt Czuchry, Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.

Sutton Foster, who led Amy Sherman-Palladino-created series "Bunheads" before it was canceled after one season by ABC Family, has also signed up for the four-episode revival. She is the first new addition to the cast for the Netflix series, but her role is still unknown.

Melissa McCarthy, who played Lorelai's loyal friend Sookie St. James, has not been asked to return. The actress who has been super busy since starring in 2011's comedy "Bridesmaids" tweeted on February 3, "Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!!"

Filming has begun for the new series, but no premiere date is set just yet.
