A man was detained outside Taylor Swift's home in Bel-Air, Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 3. The Los Angeles Police Department took such action after they received a call of a complaint from the singer's residence at 2:45 P.M.
The police later confirmed that the man was detained for an investigation at 4:40 P.M. Those who live near the singer's house got "spooked" by the man when they saw him standing outside their homes. According to eyewitnesses, the man was yelling for Swift to come out of her home. They also suggested that the man seemed unstable.
A police officer said that the man was then taken to the West L.A. Division police station for further medical evaluation. "The man was detained for an investigation. He was not supposed to be in that area or near that home. He was taken for observation for an undisclosed medical condition," the officer told E! News. However, the man was later released without being charged with a crime.
It's unknown if Swift was inside her house when the incident happened. Her spokesperson said that they were disappointed with the media because they had published the singer's address. "This is why it's irresponsible for the media to publish the addresses or recent real estate transactions of celebrities. This, or potentially worse, is the end result," the spokesperson said.
