After Goldberg ranted about the lack of diversity in the Oscar nominations, co-host Candace Cameron Bure walks off the show but not because of the discussion.

"The View" co-hosts were among those who have weighed in on the lack of diversity in the list of nominations for the 88th annual Academy Awards. In the Tuesday, January 19 episode, moderator Whoopi Goldberg sparred with guest host Sunny Hostin about Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee's call for boycott on the 28 February ceremony.

Goldberg is against the boycott because she thinks that it would be a "slap in the face" of Chris Rock who is hosting the event. "You wanna boycott something? Don't go see the movies that don't have your representation. That's the boycott you want," she said. "To me, we have this conversation every year. It pisses me off." Hostin, meanwhile, believes in the power of boycott.

Goldberg pointed out the real problem, which is the lack of black movies. "It's not that the problem is that the people who are nominated are too white. They're not looking at a movie and saying, 'Oh, that's very white. I'm not going to nominate that black movie.' They're not sitting there like that!" said the veteran actress.

"What the problem is, the people who can be helping to make movies that have blacks and Latinos and women and all that - that movie doesn't come to you. Because the idea is that there's no place for black movies."

"So I'm not going to boycott, but I'm going to continue to bitch as I have all year round because I'm tired of seeing movies where no one is represented except a bit of the population, not all of it," she concluded.

During the discussion, Candace Cameron Bure who remained silent tried to crack a joke with Joy Behar. "Hi, Joy. How are you?" she asked her co-host who's sitting next to her. After a commercial break, Cameron Bure was gone and Goldberg said her co-host had been sick.

Trying to make things clear, Cameron Bure tweeted later, "I left the show today b/c I didnt feel well, not because of the discussion. Saw the Doctor- low blood sugar & tested positive for fluB."
