Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell have signed up to reprise their roles as Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.

AceShowbiz - FOX shared many info about its new projects at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. In addition to announcing the "24" reboot and the renewals of "Scream Queens" and "Empire", the network confirmed that it had ordered a "Prison Break" revival to series.

Moreover, Fox Television Group Chairman and CEO Dana Walden said the new series would address events of the straight-to-DVD epilogue, "The Final Break", in which a major character met his demise. "The story unravels on an international landscape - it's not a domestic [plot]," she dished on the setting. "We open on a very international contemporary-feeling story."

Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell have signed up to reprise their lead roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows, and there's a report saying that Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper will also return as Sara and T-Bag respectively. Walden had a similar hope as saying, "I'm hoping that we'll see many of the great characters ... return throughout the season."

Filming will begin as soon as late March. While the revival was originally eyed as a 10-episode event series, it's now likely to run for 9 episodes because of Miller and Purcell's commitments to other series. Both actors star on The CW's upcoming show "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" as series regulars.

Emmy-winning director Stephen Hopkins will helm the pilot.
