The song will appear alongside contributions from Jason Isbell, Zac Brown and Chris Stapleton among others on producer Dave Cobb's compilation album 'Southern Family'.

AceShowbiz - Miranda Lambert surprised her fans with a brand new song on Friday, January 15. Called "Sweet By and By", the track was recorded by the country superstar for producer Dave Cobb's upcoming compilation album "Southern Family".

On it, Lambert sings about childhood lessons her mother and father taught her. "Tell the truth/ Earn your dollar/ Let not your heart asunder/ Save yourself/ Believe in faith/ Good things come to those who wait," she coos and adds in the chorus, "Mama I have not forgotten/ Lessons learned under the light of/ The Southern starry sky."

The "Southern Family" compilation is set for release on March 18. In addition to Lambert, it features contributions from other big names in country music like Jason Isbell, Zac Brown, Brandy Clark and Chris Stapleton.

"These are songs written about growing up and songs that are cut that they've heard. Maybe one your mother sang to you," Cobb recently said of the tracks included on the forthcoming project. "Something that means a lot to your family."
