"Friends" fans must be awwing to hear this news. Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry, who played a couple on the hit sitcom, are reportedly dating in real life. Both stars are currently single after Cox ended her engagement to Snow Patrol's member Johnny McDaid in early December and Perry split from actress Lizzy Caplan in 2012.

Star magazine claims that Cox rushed into the arms of her former co-star following her breakup. "It's no surprise that Matthew was one of the first people Courteney called when she ended the engagement," a source tells the magazine. "They've leaned on each other before, during her infertility struggle and his battle with addiction."

But this time, their relationship is said to be more than platonic. "Matthew invited her over to talk one night, and they ended up hooking up!" the source says. They, however, are "taking it slow" and not planning to make it public anytime soon. "There isn't any pressure to put a label on it yet, but they're excited to see where this might go," the source adds.

Gossip Cop has debunked the story though. Citing its own source, the site says that the "friends with benefits" report is not true.

Earlier this year, the two were also rumored dating after they were spotted stepping out together and kissing on a street.
