AceShowbiz - The highly-anticipated sci-fi movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" finally made its world premiere on Monday, December 14. The movie was being screened in three separate theaters across L.A., including the TCL Chinese Theatre, where the original "Star Wars" was shown for the first time in 1977.

A group of ten First Order Stormtroopers paraded through the road in front of the theater that had been closed off for the red carpet. They wielded their iconic weapons as they greeted fans while heading towards the venue. The movie's non-human beloved characters such as C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB8 droid also showed up on the red carpet and attracted attendees. Some of them had chances to take some pictures with the characters.

Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew joined the crowd and was seen posing for photographers with his unique lightsaber-shaped cane. The movie's cast members such as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie also attended the premiere.

Ridley and Christie looked beautiful in white figure-hugging dresses. Ford, Hamill, Driver, Boyega and Isaac all suited up for dapper looks. Director J.J. Abrams and some actors like Hamill, Boyega, Isaac and Fisher, who came with her daughter Billie Lourd, signed autographs and took selfies with some fans, who dressed up as their favorite characters. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was also spotted at the event wearing a Jedi costume and painted his face green to make him look like Master Yoda.

A great number of die-hard fans devoted their energy and time to participate in the event. Many of them wore some costumes to make them look like Stormtroopers, Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron or even R2-D2. A group of fans outside the venue brought some bounty hunter masks and assembled to take photos.

The seventh installment of "Star Wars" movie series takes place after the Battle of Endor at the end of "Return of the Jedi". "The Force Awakens" will open in the U.S. on December 18.
