Kara goes head to head with her aunt Astra, who returns with a big agenda, in a sneak peek for the show's last episode in 2015.

AceShowbiz - It's aunt vs. niece in the next episode of "Supergirl". Following the introduction to Astra early in the season, Kara's aunt who is played by Laura Benanti is back in the winter finale and it will not be a usual family reunion.

"She's up to something," Kara says. Hank worries that it could be the beginning of a city-wide attack, while Kara's foster sister Alex declares this is a "war." Now, it's up to Kara to face against her aunt in a big showdown.

"Hostile Takeover" airs Monday, December 14 at 8/7c on CBS and after that the show will take a winter hiatus before returning in 2016. According to the official synopsis, "Kara goes toe-to-toe with Astra when her aunt challenges Kara's beliefs about her mother. Also, Cat is threatened with being removed as the CEO of CatCo after a hacker exposes her private and damaging emails."

Meanwhile, the last episode of "Supergirl" just revealed Hank's (David Harewood) big secret. It turns out that his eyes are glowing red because he's the alter ego of J'onn J'onzz a.k.a. The Martian Manhunter, who in the comic books is known as an alien with a good heart.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explains the decision to introduce Martian Manhunter on the show. "Within the body of the Supergirl series, there is a Martian Manhunter series rolling throughout," he tells TVLine. "It fit in with how Supergirl has been evolving. She's embraced her powers and stepped out into the light, and in a way, J'onn is closeted and afraid. He's one of the most frightening-looking Justice Leaguers, but he has the purest heart."

On what's next in store for his character, Harewood reveals that episode 11 will deal with his character's past. "It was a very emotional episode, just thinking about the whole idea of genocide and people being burned alive," Harewood says. "It's going to be a very emotional and powerful episode, and fans will be really delighted to see it."

The revelation of Hank's true identity will also bring Kara and Alex closer to him. Chyler Leigh who plays Alex says, "Up until [Episode 7], there's the question of who Hank is and how much he knows about our past and our family. There's tons of mistrust, a lot of questions and not a lot of answers. But [J'onn] looks at Alex almost as if she's one of his children. There's so many wonderful moments between the two of them when he says, 'You're very much like my daughter.' "

Still, it's obvious that they are physically different. "That's very uncomfortable, because he realizes that Kara is beautiful and blonde and gorgeous, and I'm this 7-foot, green martian," Harewood says. Kreisberg also reveals in an upcoming episode, "when Alex is actually encouraging him to use his powers, saying what's the difference between you and Kara? And he says, 'Your sister looks like a cheerleader, and I look like a monster.' "
