Is Thor going to appear in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"? Nope, but Chris Hemsworth has a big hope for it. In a recent interview to talk about his new film "In the Heart of the Sea", Hemsworth admitted that he would love to see the hammer-wielding superhero hanging out with some badass characters of "Guardians".

Joined by Tom Holland in the interview, the 32-year-old actor was asked about which franchise he wanted Thor to appear in. "I'd love him to hang out with the Guardians crew. I love that film and there's a great amount of fun to be had," Hemsworth answered. However, it is not likely to happen because "Guardians 2" will not feature any member of the Avengers, even as cameos.

Official synopsis for the sequel to "Guardians of the Galaxy" has yet to be announced. The movie brings back Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and the irreverent Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista). Pom Klementieff is also in the cast and is rumored to play Mantis. Directed by James Gunn, the space superhero movie is slated for a U.S. release on March 5, 2017.

As for Hemsworth, he will next be seen in "The Huntsman: Winter's War", "Ghostbusters (2016)" and "Thor: Ragnarok".
