The Stone Temple Pilots founder passed away in his sleep while touring with his band The Wildabouts.

AceShowbiz - Scott Weiland's cause of death may have been revealed by TMZ. In an audio tape of a call between the Bloomington police department and the Hennepin County Sheriff's department, dispatchers are heard saying that the rocker likely had a cardiac arrest.
The Stone Temple Pilots frontman "passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts." His representative added in a statement on Instagram, "At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott's family be respected."
Scott was 48. He is survived by his wife Jamie and his two children from a previous marriage, Noah, 15, and Lucy, 13.
Celebrities have since flooded Twitter to send their prayers and condolences. "Rock and Roll lost a soul tonight...#rip #scottweiland," Taylor Momsen wrote. Jack Osbourne also joined the mourners, "Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of #scottweiland my thoughts are with his family."
