Blur's Damon Albarn: NO Feud With Adele
Celebrity

The rocker was amazed at how the media took his comments out of perspective and made him infamous on social networks.

AceShowbiz - Blur's frontman Damon Albarn said there's no beef between him and Adele. It was simply a stunt made by media to create sensation and get a reaction from the celebrities, Albarn thought.

Their alleged feud stemmed from Albarn's comment about his involvement in Adele's "25" album, a process which resulted in nothing. "The thing is, she's very insecure. And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young," he was quoted as telling The Sun. She responded later, "I'm the least-insecure person I know. I was asking his opinion about my fears, about coming back with a child involved - because he has a child - and then he calls me insecure?"

Speaking of the failed collaboration, Adele told Rolling Stone, "It ended up being one of those 'don't meet your idol' moments. And the saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him. None of it was right. None of it suited my record."

Now Albarn shed a light on the truth, saying that he was not feuding with the "Hello" hitmaker. "It's not even true," Albarn said in an interview with TimeOut London. "It's amazing how people will run with stuff that has no credence whatsoever and turn it into something and then watch the reaction."

Speaking of the lashes he received on social media for his "insecure" comment, Albarn said, "People were not kind, it was... enlightening. I'm used to it. Listen, I'm here because I love writing music and it's a privilege." He also took a jab at social media and its influence, saying, "I was number five on Twitter yesterday. I mean, how pathetic is that?"

"25" was released on November 20. It sold 538,000 copies in 72 hours.
