Find Out How 'Blade Runner 2' Opening Scene Will Be Like
Movie

Ridley Scott hinted that the upcoming movie would open 'with the original starting block of the original film.'

AceShowbiz - Although director Ridley Scott has been replaced by Denis Villeneuve, he might still be involved in the untitled Blade Runner project. While attending AFI festival, Scott revealed some details about the opening scene of the movie, hinting that it would look similar to the first film.

"We decided to start the film off with the original starting block of the original film," Scott said. "We always loved the idea of a dystopian universe, and we start off at what I describe as a 'factory farm' - what would be a flat land with farming."

He also mentioned that near the location there would be a big dead tree located next to a "Grapes of Wrath-type white cottage with a porch." "Behind it at a distance of two miles, in the twilight, is this massive combine harvester that's fertilizing this ground. You've got 16 Klieg lights on the front, and this combine is four times the size of this cottage," he added.

Harrison Ford's Rick Deckard would arrive at the cottage in a spinner or a flying car, enter the house, and wait for another man, whom Scott described as a 350-pound guy. "The guy's seen him, so the guy pulls the combine behind the cottage and it towers three stories above it, and the man climbs down from a ladder - a big man. He steps onto the balcony and he goes to Harrison's side," Scott continued. The guy Scott described appears to be a replicant whom Deckard will shoot.

Ford is joined by Ryan Gosling in the cast. Scott produces alongside Bud Yorkin, Cynthia Yorkin, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. There isn't official release date just yet, but the movie is expected to arrive in the U.S. in 2017.
