Rep Confirms Jason Aldean Dressed as Lil Wayne for Halloween

Despite the sensitive issue, the country star's representative did not issue an apology or address the blackface.
Jason Aldean came under fire for dressing up as Lil Wayne at a Halloween party. A representative confirmed that the country star was channeling the rapper after a photo surfaced of him wearing blackface makeup and dreadlock wig.

The picture, which was first posted on NashvilleGab.com, showed Aldean wearing sunglasses, long dreadlocks and gold jewelry. "When the picture above first fell in my lap and I was told it was a picture of Jason Aldean, his wife, and a couple friends dressed up for Halloween," Shannon at Nashville Gab wrote.

On Tuesday, November 10, Aldean's publicist Tyne Parrish confirmed via an email to the AP that Aldean "dressed as rapper Lil Wayne for Halloween," but refused to comment further. Parrish neither issued an apology nor address the blackface.

Two years ago, Julianne Hough apologized for donning blackface for Halloween. She was dressed as her favorite character Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren from "Orange Is the New Black". The dancer told Allure, "Ignorance is sometimes not bliss. I really had no idea what I was doing, and it was all out of fun and respect for the character. I don't even know how to talk about it because it's such a sensitive topic. It makes me so sad to think that I was that dumb. I learned a big lesson."
