Kanye West: 'Swish' Album Is 'Good', Like a 'Sonic Painting'

'It's soundin' good, like a sonic painting. And it gets better and better every week,' says 'Ye of his highly-anticipated new studio effort.

Kanye West gave an update on his oft-delayed "Swish" album when he recently phoned into Big Boy's "Real 92.3". The rapper admitted that he'd been working on the project very slowly, but promised it would be worth the long wait.

"I don't wanna overly describe it or overly try to hype it up. We're working slow. I've had a while to work on it," he said, as heard in an audio clip obtained by HipHop-N-More. He added that some tracks he initially crafted for the album ended up going to other artists.

"Then I separated a couple of the tracks that were on my album - getting the other people like 'FourFiveSeconds' the Rihanna one, the joint on The Weeknd's album, 'Tell Your Friends'," he explained.

Although he's dropped "Only One" and "All Day", which are all expected to make the cut to "Swish", he's still working on perfecting the album's sound. "I still just kept working and trying to find the language that I wanted to say on my album. Just going in the lab every night," he shared. "It's soundin' good, like a sonic painting. And it gets better and better every week."

On the show, 'Ye also discussed his recent Hollywood Bowl show, during which he performed the songs off his "808's & Heartbreak" album. He recalled how critics first trashed the record, which the father of one said now became "the sound of radio."
