Movie

The 'Harry Potter' actor will join Will Arnett who is back voicing the Lego version of the Caped Crusader.

"The Lego Batman Movie" is shaping up with the casting of Ralph Fiennes. The Oscar-winning actor has signed up to voice Alfred Pennyworth aka Bruce Wayne's loyal butler Alfred, THR reported.

Fiennes joins Will Arnett, Michael Cera and Rosario Dawson who will voice the Caped Crusader, Robin and Batgirl respectively. Zach Galifianakis is still in negotiations to play the Joker. This would be Fiennes' first voice work since 2005's "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit". The actor previously worked for Warner Bros.'s "Harry Potter" franchise as Lord Voldemort.

"Lego Batman" is the spin-off to "The Lego Movie" which was a commercial success with $257 million in North America alone. Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on Lego Movie, is directing from a script by author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith.

Official plotline is still kept under wrap but Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the director-writer duo for "The Lego Movie", shared a bit earlier this year. "No spoilers. But I will say I think the movie is really exciting because it's about 'Can Batman be happy?' " Lord said, before mimicking the Dark Knight, " 'Wah, I'm so rich and handsome, and women like me, and I've got a Maclaren. Something about my parents!' "

"The Lego Batman Movie" is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2017.
