Justin Timberlake will make an appearance at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards. The singer has been revealed as one of the performers for the annual event, which this year will take place on Wednesday, November 4.
Timberlake is gracing the CMA stage with Chris Stapleton, who told Rolling Stone that he personally called the former NSYNC member to ask him if he would do the show. The phone conversation, interestingly, happened before Stapleton himself was even added to the CMA line-up.
"[Timberlake] is obviously one of the greatest musical talents in the world, maybe ever, that we have," the country singer said. "I called him up with no thought of him agreeing to it, and he was ready to start planning it right then. I said, 'Well, I think maybe we should wait, and if we get nominated they'll let me have [a slot].' "
"He was so gracious and kind to want to do it and was so excited about it, and I'm excited about it. It'll be something I've never done before for sure," he added. However, which song he'd perform together with Timberlake remains unclear for now.
This year's CMA Awards is airing live on ABC from Nashville. Stapleton is nominated for three awards including Male Vocalist of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. The latter is for his debut solo record, "Traveller". The event will also feature performances from Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett who will be joined by John Mellencamp and Fall Out Boy, respectively.
