Somebody took "The Walking Dead" way too seriously. A fan of the hit AMC series was arrested after killing his pal whom he believed was beginning to "change into a zombie".

Prewitt, a small city near Albuquerque, New Mexico, was put on radar after 23-year-old Damon Perry threatened his neighborhoods with knife. Grants officer Moses Marquez told local TV station KOB that Perry had been drinking alcohol and watching the "Walking Dead" episode on Thursday, October 22 prior to beating his 23-year-old friend Christopher Paquin to death.

Police responded to a 911 call stating that a man was running around an apartment building complex and threatening people with a knife. The man, who was later identified as Perry, was held down by two maintenance workers. Officers then found Paquin's badly beaten body inside a nearby apartment.

Perry was taken to the police station to be questioned and told the detectives that Paquin tried to bite him. He reportedly punched and kicked Paquin, hitting him with electric guitar and microwave among other household items. Perry admitted that he and his victim were drinking "large amount of alcohol". He was held on charge of homicide at the Cibola County Detention Center.
