Jay Leno has always been supportive of his "The Tonight Show" successor Jimmy Fallon and he's even there when the younger comedian needed a helping hand. On Tuesday, October 6, Leno took over the stage to deliver a monologue when the current host pulled a hamstring in the opening segment.

"I think I pulled a hammy, I think I'm gonna sub out," Fallon said, before asking someone to sub for him. So Leno tagged in and continued the monologue. The veteran comedian was welcome with loud cheer and applause from the audience.

"After that last debate, Marco Rubio is being called the best communicator in the Republican party, which is kind of like being the smartest Kardashian," Leno joked. He also poked fun at Barack Obama, Osama bin Laden and the economy.

"The economy is so bad in California, in Beverly Hills parents are being forced to raise their own children - that never happens!" Leno cracked. He also joked, "The economy is so bad, the Kardashians are losing their ass." Fallon then joined him to add, "The economy is so bad 50 Cent changed his name to Nickelback."

Leno is set to launch his new show "Jay Leno's Garage" on Wednesday, October 7 at 10 P.M. on CNBC.
