George R.R. Martin and HBO shut down rumors that "Game of Thrones" movie was in the works. The Daily Star previously reported George confirmed that HBO and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were working on a film.

George reportedly told the site at the HBO after party, "There will be a movie but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and DB and David are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don't write faster."

In an email to The Huffington Post, George's assistant says the statements attributed to the author in the Daily Star article are "not direct quotes." George says, "There's been talk about it. I'd love to see one, but nothing is decided." He replied to a fan who asked about the "Game of Thrones" movie rumors on his LiveJournal page, "Yes, completely false. No one is working on any movie just now. And if there was a movie, it would not be about Robert's Rebellion. And this comment is also off topic."

A representative from HBO agreed with George, saying that the Daily Star story was "not at all correct."
