Jessica Simpson's appearance on Home Shopping Network made headlines for the wrong reason. The 35-year-old mother of two appeared on HSN to sell her newest fashion collection and many fans noticed that she looked unsteady and seemed to slur her speech leading to speculation that the star was wasted.

"Ashlee is like the best at wearing gray. My sister...Like, she's very rock 'n' roll, but there's something about a gray that's like...sexy. Maybe it's her and her husband, they share jeans...I have no idea...I don't know. There's just something hot about them," Jessica rambled as she talked about her younger sister, Ashlee Simpson.

The host Colleen Lopez saved the day by bringing the focus on the denims as she chimed in, "It looks very fresh to me." As the host said that many female shoppers would be very "obsessed" with the skinny jeans, Jessica who was accompanied by her mother Tina Simpson replied, "Maybe men, too. You never know!"

Jessica and her camp haven't responded to the drunken rumors, but HSN issued a statement after a clip of her appearance hit the web. Without mentioning the rumors, they said, "It was fun to have Jessica make her HSN debut with her mother Tina last night. We were happy to host them and thrilled with the way customers responded to the collection."

Lopez posted on Facebook a picture of them together with a note, "Thank you so much for watching tonight! Congrats to Jessica Simpson and her Mom, Tina on a sell out show!!"

Although many accused Jessica of drinking before the HSN appearance, many other fans came to her defense. Some suggested that the star might just be exhausted from doing a series of interviews and promotional appearances, including on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", during the last few days.
