Toni Braxton Is Getting Authorized Lifetime Film 'Un-Break My Heart'

While the 47-year-old songstress will appear in the upcoming movie based on her autobiography, she will not star as herself.

AceShowbiz - Toni Braxton's life story is heading to Lifetime as an original movie titled "Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart", which is also the title of her 1996 hit song. According to E! News, the 47-year-old songstress will executive produce and appear in the film but not as herself.

Craig Baumgarten ("Twist of Faith") will also serve as executive producer along with Erik Kritzer and Marcus Grant. Vondie Curis-Hall ("Abducted: The Carlina White Story" will direct the project from a script from Susan McMartin ("Mom", "Two and a Half Men"). Production will begin later this year.

"Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart" is based on Toni's memoir of the same name which retells the singer's life story, her battle with lupus, financial troubles, divorce, her son's autism, her resulting activism and her family struggles. The upcoming movie's official description reads, " 'Un-Break My Heart' is the never-before-told story of the measures Braxton took to make herself and her family whole again, serving as an inspiration to people around the world."

Other actresses who became the subjects of Lifetime movies included Whitney Houston, Brittany Murphy, Aaliyah and Gabby Douglas. The network is also working on other movies about "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Melrose Hotel".
