Jessica Simpson Thinks Marrying Nick Lachey Was One of Her 'Biggest Money Mistakes'

Asked to name some of her biggest money mistakes, either personal or professional, Jessica said, 'For some reason I thought of my first marriage!'
10 years after separating from singer husband Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson said marrying him was one of her biggest money mistakes. The 35-year-old star was asked to name some of her biggest money mistakes, either personal or professional, during an appearance on CNBC's "Closing Bell" on Thursday, September 10.

Jessica couldn't find the perfect answer at first. She then jokingly told host Kelly Evans (via Us Weekly), "The biggest money mistakes? I don't know. For some reason I thought of my first marriage!" Kelly then replied, "That's actually a common answer, believe it or not."

Jessica and Nick, 41, got married in 2002 and then divorced in 2006. After that she dated Tony Romo and John Mayer before finally settling down with now-husband Eric Johnson, with whom she has daughter Maxwell, 3, and son Ace, 2.

On Wednesday night, September 9, Jessica was spotted celebrating the 10th anniversary of her fashion line "Jessica Simpson Collection" at Tavern on Green in New York City. She was joined for the occasion by her parents, Eric, Maxwell, and Ace.
