'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Gets Earlier U.K. Release
Movie

On Tuesday, September 8, the highly-anticipated movie's official Facebook and Twitter page announced the 100-day countdown.

AceShowbiz - The people in U.K. will get to watch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in advance. The release date across the pond is moved a day earlier than U.S. release on December 18.

The official U.K. Star Wars Facebook and Twitter confirmed the December 17 date with a 100-day countdown. However, U.K. is not the first date for the highly-anticipated movie. United Arab Emirates, where parts of it were filmed, will have it on December 15 while Italy, France and some European nations get to watch it the next day.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, "The Force Awakens" is set 30 years after "Return of the Jedi". Han Solo and co-pilot Chewbacca return to the franchise, joining new characters such as Finn, Rey and the baddie Kylo Ren.

[Spoiler Alert]: According to StarWars7News' report, the main objective of Kylo Ren and the knights of Ren in the movie is to take over the galaxy "using the same power of the Force once used by the Galactic Empire." Kylo has been described as an "associate" of the First Order, and the Knights of Ren have been called as a group that is trying to reclaim its lost power and are said to be "allied" to the First Order.
