James Gunn Dismisses Hulk From 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Rumor
Movie

The director would like to confirm once again that the green Avenger is not part of the new guardians despite fans' theories.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn had a Q and A session with his Twitter followers recently to talk about the hit movie's sequel among others. One thing he confirmed would not appear in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" was Hulk.

Since the green creature went off the radar at the end of "Avengers: Age of Ultron", many fans speculated that he had thrown himself out of the galaxy and would appear in "GOTG" sequel. After all, "GOTG Vol. 2" is a loose adaptation of "Planet Hulk". Gunn actually had addressed the rumor earlier this year and said no but he's making it official the second time.

"I will comment on it now (as I've done before) - there is zero chance you will see Hulk in GotGVol2," Gunn tweeted. It has been known that Marvel is working on new characters but they are all kept a secret. Notably, Chris Pratt's Peter Quill will remain the only creature from earth. "For the time being, it's important to me that Quill is the sole human (earthling) character," Gunn wrote.

When one fan asked whether there will be a new female member of the guardians, Gunn said, "As I've said many times it's one of my goals to get a higher [percentage] of female heroes (and villains) out there. So MAYBE." On how many new characters there will be, Gunn commented, "Not too many, that's for sure! I want all of our characters to get MORE personal time than they did in the 1st film."

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is scheduled for release on May 05, 2017.
