The Sum 41 frontman looked healthy and sober on his wedding day, a year after collapsing in his living room.

AceShowbiz - Deryck Whibley followed the footsteps of her famous ex, Avril Lavigne, to give marriage another try. The Sum 41 frontman married his girlfriend Ariana Cooper on Sunday, August 30 at the Hotel Bel Air in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
According to several reports, the couple exchanged vows under a flower-adorned altar in front of around 100 guests including family and friends. "It was a chill and intimate ceremony," a source told PEOPLE. "They had a violin play at the ceremony and the music was mellow, not typical rock that Deryck's band plays, which was surprising."
The bride looked stunning in a strapless ball gown but wore white Converse sneakers underneath the dress. "Mrs. Biz" is written across the shoes. The groom sported a plain black tuxedo with ties, ditching formal shoes for a pair of comfortable black sneakers.
A strings of trio played "Happy Together" when Whibley and Cooper were pronounced husband and wife. Per E! Online, the guests were ushered to the reception to the tune of Metallica's "Enter Sandman". The newlyweds then had their first dance to Frank Sinatra's "Cheek to Cheek".
The guests were then served a four-course meal from Wolfgang Puck catering. Since he's abstinent from alcohol, the couple toasted to apple cider when they cut the cake but the guests enjoyed champagne. "Their love for one another is contagious. They spent the day smiling and giggling and set such a comfortable tone for the wedding," said the wedding's planner Christine Zohrabians.
Last year, Whibley collapsed in his living room with a drink in his hand. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors told him he suffered from severe organ failures due to excessive drinking. Following his sobrierty in April this year, Whibley said, "There are so many exciting things now. So many things are new for me. I'd never done anything sober. ...Now there's this whole world out there and things I'm realizing I've never done. I wouldn't say I missed out on anything, just more like, things were set aside until this point in my life."
Whibley's marriage to Lavigne lasted three years and ended in a divorce in October 2009. Lavigne then married Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in 2013.
