Ed Sheeran continues to confuse his fans online. After saying that the massive lion tattoo on his chest was fake, now the British gingerhead says that the body ink is real after all. "Only joking, covered it up for a TV show didn't I," he wrote on Instagram.

His latest IG photo suggests the lion tattoo was only covered with makeup. The singer didn't name the TV show but he has landed a recurring role on a new FX series "The Bastard Executioner" from "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly which had the first look at him in character on the TV show, Sheeran said he would play "someone who is in a religious sect." He explained, "I find that I have reputation of being a smiley approachable guy, so I wanted the opposite. I said to Kurt, make sure that I'm not typecast at all. Write me as a complete d***head in it. I feel like I need that."
