According to a new report, the label has approached the One Direction hottie for a 'mega solo deal' and will make his solo album their top priority for 2016 if he signs with them.

AceShowbiz - Shortly after One Direction confirmed that they would take a lengthy break next year, a new report surfaced saying Sony's eyeing to sign Harry Styles as a solo artist. According to The Sun, the label has approached the 21-year-old singer to secure a "mega solo deal."

The publication additionally said that Sony's bosses would make Styles' solo material their top priority for 2016. "Harry has always been One Direction's most popular member and it's obvious that we want to secure him - he's a global superstar," an anonymous insider said.

"[Zayn Malik] will get to release an album first, as he left the band earlier, but the most excitement is about what Harry is going to do. Everyone wants to know what his solo material will sound like, there's also a lot of pressure to get it right," the source added.

Hazza, currently signed to Simon Cowell's Syco which is a division of Sony, has yet to respond to the news. He and the remaining 1D members are currently touring in support of their fourth album while readying their fifth studio effort. They will reportedly start their extended hiatus in March.
