Shortly after being announced, Carrie Underwood's new single "Smoke Break" made its way out onto the internet in its entirety. The song has been confirmed as the first offering from her upcoming album "Storyteller".

Written by the singer herself along with Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano, the track highlights Underwood's signature powerful vocals as she sings about hard-working people taking a break from their responsibilities.

"She said, 'I don't smoke,' but sometimes I need a long drag/ Yeah, I know it might sound bad, but sometimes I need a smoke break," she belts out the chorus.

"The song itself is just kind of one of those story songs that I feel like everybody can relate to, about how life is so hectic and it's so nice when, if and when, you actually get to kind of step away for a second," Underwood said about "Smoke Break" when announcing the single on Thursday, August 20. "And we all need that, we all need that time to ourselves to get to take a break."

The song's parent album "Storyteller" is scheduled for release on October 23. "I feel like a lot of the songs that I wrote and gravitated to ended up being more traditional and 'twangy' than anything I have ever done before," she teased the LP, which will be her first since last year's "Greatest Hits: Decade #1".
