Amid reports that Ice Cube and his son O'Shea Jackson Jr. are in talks to star in long-in-development movie about L.A. riots entitled "April 29 1992", the duo denied the rumor, saying that they have "no plans" to do the movie. Cube was reported to take a lead role as an ex-criminal in the movie.

"Ice Cube and O'Shea Jackson Jr. have no plans to commit to this project at this time. Any speculations or rumors that suggest that they are confirmed are simply untrue," a rep for Cube and his son said on their behalf.

The actors were approached about the film some time ago, but that talks never went any further. "It's absolutely not true. No truth to it at all," said a source close to Cube. The 46-year-old rapper recently signed on for New Line's comedy "Fist Fight" with Charlie Day but he said that there was no project taken after that.

"April 29 1992" follows an ex-criminal who must save his son when a group of thugs raid his place of work in the hopes to steal an expensive amount of platinum. Will Packer will produce with the script written by Sascha Penn. Donovan Marsh is currently in talks to direct the movie which is expected to arrive in the U.S. in 2017.

As for Cube, he is currently in Europe to promote his recent movie "Straight Outta Compton" in which his son also stars in. The movie secured the first position in last weekend's box office. It has garnered around $80 million from the domestic theaters as of now and is expected to take a No. 1 spot this weekend again.
