'Marvel's Jessica Jones' showrunner Melissa Rosenberg reveals Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple on the upcoming Netflix series.

AceShowbiz - The rumored plan of "Marvel's Jessica Jones" / "Daredevil" crossover has been confirmed. Speaking about the upcoming Netflix series starring Krysten Ritter, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg reveals Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple will appear on "Jessica Jones". "I think I'm allowed to say: Rosario Dawson will be dropping in," she tells ETonline.

Rosenberg also describes Ritter's superheroine character Jessica Jones, "She's funny! She's dark! She's the real deal. She's utterly compelling, both the actress and the character." Adding that Jessica is "more adult," she promises they won't shy away from "real problems" and "abuse" that Jessica grapples with.

Asked whether she considers Jessica to be a feminist," Rosenberg responds, "She herself wouldn't consider herself a feminist. Or not!" She explains, "I approach this character not from telling a female story. Gender is not the first character aspect that defines her."

Unlike many other superheroes, Jessica Jones is "not out to save the city." Rosenberg says, "Our show has plenty of action, but it's not about the action. It's about the character, it's about her emotional arc. And she's not a ninja. She never studies martial arts. She's a brawler. You piss her off and boom! You're down! We're not seeing a whole lot of... 'Hiyah!' "

"Jessica Jones" is currently in production and is expected to arrive in late 2015 on Netflix.

Rosario Dawson will also return for "Daredevil" season 2.
