The 'Divergent' actress opened up about 'damaging' body image issue during the Monday episode of 'Running Wild with Bear Grylls'.

AceShowbiz - Kate Winslet opened up to Bear Grylls about "damaging" body image issue she experienced in the past. During the Monday, July 27 episode of "Running Wild with Bear Grylls", Kate said, "When I grew up, I never heard positive reinforcement about body image from any female in my life."

"I only heard negatives," the star of "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" continued, "That's very damaging, because then you're programmed as a young woman to immediately scrutinize yourself and how you look."

Kate revealed she was bullied at school. "I was chubby, always had big feet the wrong shoes, bad hair. There was one girl who was particularly horrible to me," she said. After she became famous, the 39-year-old actress came across with the girl and told her, "I want to thank you for being such a b***h because it made me a lot stronger."

Kate made sure to give her daughter Mia Honey Threapleton the encouragement she never had. "I stand in front of the mirror and say to Mia, 'We are so lucky we have a shape. We're so lucky we're curvy. We're so lucky we've got good bums.' And she'll say, 'Mommy, I know, thank God,' " shared the "Titanic" actress.
