The 'Inception' actor will appear in the season premiere which imagines the alternate reality of Mindy Kaling's character in which she is married to Gordon-Levitt's Matt.

"The Mindy Project" has tapped Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a guest star for its upcoming season 4. The "Snowden" actor will appear in the season opener which depicts the alternate reality of the titular character, who is played by Mindy Kaling.
Inspired by 1998's romantic comedy "Sliding Doors", the episode will find Mindy Lahiri married to Gordon-Levitt's Matt, a suave reality show producer for Bravo, BuzzFeed News reports. The John Blake of "The Dark Knight Rises" apparently returns the favor after Kaling and her co-star Chris Messina guest starred in season 2 premiere of his Pivot series "HitRECord on TV".
"The Mindy Project" was previously canceled by FOX after three seasons before it was picked up by Hulu in May. There's still no premiere date for the 26-episode fourth season of the comedy series.
At the end of season 3, Mindy is pregnant with Danny's (Messina) baby. Words are, Mindy will have a problem with her pregnancy as her doctor (guest star Laura Dern) diagnoses her with Preeclampsia or high blood pressure.
