AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles is among big names in music who have been enlisted for the 2015 Global Citizen Festival. The diva is set to take the stage at the benefit concert, which will take place on the Great Lawn of New York City's Central Park on September 26.

The Global Citizen fest is a free event organized by the Global Poverty Project, which aims to bring attention to worldwide poverty. This year's event will coincide with the launch of the United Nations' new Global Goals that's designed to fight inequality, protect the planet and end extreme poverty by 2030.

Pearl Jam, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran are other acts in the line-up. Free tickets are available on the fest's website, where fans can sign up and pledge to take an "Action Journey", which includes "making phone calls, volunteering or participating in another effort to encourage the U.S. State Department to dedicate 50|percent| of its foreign aid budget to the world's poorest countries."

Fans who can't make it to the festival can stream it via MSNBC, YouTube, NBC, iHeartRadio, Tidal and BBC Worldwide.

"I am honored to be a part of the Global Citizen Festival," said Beyonce, whose "Chime for Change" campaign is partnering with the festival to help empower young women. "It has always stood for improving the lives of people everywhere, but this year is especially rewarding as we all join focuses and utilize our talents for one goal: to end extreme poverty globally."

"We love the Global Citizen movement and we love opening for Beyonce so this ticks both boxes," Coldplay's Chris Martin added.
