Bristol Palin is trying to ignore backlash directed to her following her second pregnancy announcement last week. The 24-year-old reality star took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 30 to share a picture of herself firing a shotgun along with a quotation from the Holly Bible.
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come," Sarah Palin's daughter captioned the image, citing the Bible verse of Proverb 31:25 which discusses a virtuous woman. She added gun, sunshine and mountain emojis to the message.
In the photo, Palin appears focused as she fires the riffle in a forest with some bullet shells scattered around her feet. She is seen sporting cutoff denim shorts and sneakers as she conceals her baby bump with a dark hoodie.
Palin announced her pregnancy on her blog on Thursday, June 25. "I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant," so she wrote. "I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you, but please respect Tripp's and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy."
Three days later, Palin clarified in a follow-up message that her pregnancy was planned. "This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two," she wrote. "Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!"
