Nick Jonas and her girlfriend Olivia Culpo have reportedly broken up after two years of dating. A source has confirmed the reports, telling E! Online that the split decision was made because the couple was no longer able to endure a long-distance relationship.
"This has been a sensitive matter and both of them still love and care about each other and only want the best for one another," the source said of the pair. "The long distance and ups and downs have been weighing on the two of them lately and it has not been easy but they know this is the best decision for them at this time."
The couple, who first met at a New York Fashion Week event several years ago, sparked break-up rumors last week after they were spotted in New York City but staying in separate hotels. The twosome didn't even see each other during the trip in the Big Apple, Us Weekly reported. They also hadn't been seen together since the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on May 17.
The latest split news emerged days after Nick shared with PEOPLE on how to make his relationship with Olivia work while on tour. "It's just about trying to take it one step at a time," the singer told the website. "I think that the long distance thing can be tough, but ... try to stay in communication, keep it transparent and honest, and it should be okay."
