While several villainous characters have been confirmed to appear in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2", Brittany Ishibashi is tapped to star in the movie as well. She will play Karai, a role briefly played by Minae Noji in the 2014 "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

In the comics, Karai is the leader of the Foot Clan, but in the original comics she holds a higher position than Shredder. In other versions of the series, Kara is the adoptive daughter of Shredder, the turtles' sworn enemy. However, she sometimes joined forces with the Turtles. It is unclear whether she will team up with the Turtles in the upcoming movie.

The film will bring back Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, William Fichtner as Eric Sacks and Megan Fox as April O'Neil. The cast also includes Tyler Perry as scientist Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee as the new Shredder, Stephen Amell as the sports-themed vigilante Casey Jones, and Gary Anthony Williams as the humanoid warthog, Bebop. Michael Bay returns as a producer while Dave Green ("Earth to Echo") is attached to direct the second chapter. Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec from the first film also return to write the script. The upcoming sequel is set fot a U.S. release on June 3, 2016.

Ishibashi's recent credits include "Grace and Frankie", "Bones" and "Emily Owens, M.D.", along with feature films "Everything Before Us" and "The Harvesting".
