Hunter Hayes is back with new music. The country singer released on Wednesday, May 21 a new song called "21" as the first taste of his upcoming third album which is expected to arrive later this year via Atlantic Nashville.

The upbeat and summery country/pop tune was penned by Dallas Davidson along with Kelley Lovelace and Ashley Gorley. On it, Hayes sings about throwing wild party and enjoying life like when he celebrated his 21st birthday.

"Life ain't long enough/ So let's celebrate/ And get drunk on good love/ Remember what it's like to just dance all night," he sings the first verse and adds in the chorus, "Gonna be up all night/ Chasing the sunrise/ Like we're wild and young/ Baby, kids on the run/ Gonna party like we just turned 21."

Hayes had played "21" at shows while he was on tour with Lady Antebellum earlier this year. He told USA Today that he'd been "absolutely overjoyed" at the initial response. "It gets people moving," he said. "Everybody gets right with it at the top, seriously. It's like amphitheaters full of people rocking out as the sun sets; literally, there's not a hand that's down."

Hayes' third LP will serve as a follow-up to his 2014 effort "Storyline". Details including official title and release date are still kept under wraps.
