Blythe Danner Defends Daughter Gwyneth Paltrow: 'She Is So Accomplished'
Celebrity

'I think she's so accomplished that people get kind of intimidated by it,' Danner said of her 'extraordinary' daughter on 'Today' show.

AceShowbiz - Blythe Danner defended her "extraordinary" daughter Gwyneth Paltrow as she stopped by "Today" show. When the conversation turned from promoting her latest movie "I'll See You in My Dreams" to criticisms of her daughter, her maternal side arose and she started praising the 42-year-old actress.

"You often see, I mean, you read about Gwyneth in the press. Do you make of, you know, the negativity that's out there sometimes?" Natalie Morales, the host of the show, asked Danner. "I am so blessed that I'm old. I don't know how to Twitter, toot, tweet," Danner replied.

She added, "I don't know how to do any of it, and I don't look for it, because I know so much of it is just trying to sell papers or whatever that's called over the Internet."

"I know that she's the most extraordinary girl who can do everything," Danner praised Paltrow. "Incredible mother! She's raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for my husband's oral cancer foundation - things she doesn't talk about a lot."

"She's becoming a great environmentalist. I'm so proud of her. I think she's so accomplished that people get kind of intimidated by it," the 72-year-old star continued saying of her daughter, "Great cook, great mom, great actress."

Danner also gushed about her son Jake Paltrow. "My son is pretty fabulous too," she said of her son nearly in the end of the interview. "Great writer, great director..."
