Perez Hilton is a dad again. The celebrity blogger and multimedia entrepreneur welcomed second child, a baby girl, on Saturday afternoon, May 9 via surrogate. He took to Instagram and his perezhilton.com website to announce the happy news.
"It is with great pride and relief that I can finally announce: I am a dad again!" so he captioned an Instagram snap featuring a little foot of the newborn baby. Meanwhile on his website, the 37-year-old blogger wrote, "The road to this birth has been a difficult journey, quite different from the first time, and my son and I are overjoyed at this happy and healthy addition to our family. Every child is a blessing and this Mother's Day was extra blessed for me and my mother!"
Perez named his baby girl Mia Alma. He revealed in a recent interview with The Associated Press that his daughter's name meant "my soul" in Spanish, adding, "Because I'm cheesy like that." He also said that spending time with his mother and newborn daughter "was the best way to celebrate Mother's Day."
However, Perez refused to name the hospital where his daughter was born in order to protect the surrogate's identity. Perez also told the publication that he had told no one except his mother and his sister that he was expecting another child.
"It's been the hardest secret I've kept in a long time," Perez shared with the AP. "I'm excited for the two of them, so they can have each other and my son can look after her. It's a real family now." Mia joins her sibling Mario Armando Lavandeira III who was born in 2013.
