The Recording Academy and CBS have set the date for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. It's announced on Monday, May 11 that the annual awards-giving show would be held on February 15, 2016, meaning next year's event would run on a Monday.
The Grammys will return to the Staples Center in Los Angeles. CBS is airing it live at 08:00 P.M. ET. However, it's still unclear if the change will affect dates for events that traditionally precede it, including Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party and the MusiCares Person of the Year salute, which usually take place on Saturday and Friday respectively.
This year's Grammy Awards drew 27 million viewers. It featured performances from Sam Smith, Beyonce Knowles, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and others. Smith and Beck were the biggest winners of the night as the former took home four trophies including for Best New Artist and Song of the Year. The latter, meanwhile, won the coveted Album of the Year for his "Morning Phase".
