The movie's director has shared some behind-the-scenes pictures taken from the filming location in Venice, Italy, showing a bruised Tom Hanks.

AceShowbiz - The sequel of "The Da Vinci Code", "Inferno", has started its production. Ron Howard, who returns as both director and producer for the movie, took to Twitter to give updates on the production in Italy.

Howard uploaded behind-the-scenes photos taken on the set in Venice. One of the photo shows the director with Tom Hanks, who reprises his role as the main character, Robert Langdon, in the movie. The star dons a black suit and sports a black eye to portray the character, holding a camera next to the director. "Day one #InfernoMovie w/my pal @tomhanks on location in #Venice #Italy rolling cameras on the #canals," so read the caption.

The other photo that was shared by the director via Twitter captures him and some crew members on the shooting location. He captioned the photo, "And so it begins. Moments before our 1st shot on #InfernoMovie in #Venice #Italy."

Set for a release on October 14, 2016, "Inferno" follows the Harvard symbologist, Robert Langdon, who wakes up with amnesia. He teams up with Sienna Brooks, portrayed by Felicity Jones, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman who will unleash a deadly plague related to Dante's "Inferno", the 14th century poem about the nine circles of hell. Also joining the cast are Ben Foster, Omar Sy and Irrfan Khan.
