AceShowbiz - Aziz Ansari is going to headline his own show after wrapping up "Parks and Recreation" earlier this year. The actor/comedian's new comedy has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order from Netflix.
In addition to starring on it, the "Funny People" star will executive produce the show along with Alan Yang, Michael Schur, Dave Becky and David Miner. Ansari and Yang created the comedy, which is reportedly based on his life.
Title and plot details of the half-hour comedy are still unknown. The cast will also include Jon Benjamin, Lena Waithe, Eric Wareheim, Noel Wells and Kelvin Yu. Claire Danes is additionally set to guest star.
The project marks the latest in Anzari's partnership with Netflix. The 32-year-old previously teamed up with the streaming giant for stand-up specials "Buried Alive" and "Live at Madison Square Garden".
